Terms of Service

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING OUR SERVICES. They affect your legal rights and include limits on our liability, subject always to rights that cannot be excluded under UK consumer law.

1. Introduction and acceptance

These Terms are between you and Lounge and Mingle Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15163115, registered office 5 Brayford Square, London, England, E1 0SG. We trade as LoungeMingle.

By creating an account or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Safety Tips and Community Guidelines. You acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, together with any additional terms shown when you use or buy a particular Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must stop using the service. Accepting these Terms is not consent to optional storage or special-category processing.

Nothing here removes your statutory rights as a consumer. Where anything in these Terms conflicts with a right you have under UK consumer law, that right wins.

2. Who can join

You must be at least 27 years old.Lounge & Mingle is built for adults seeking intentional, relationship-ready connections, and the age requirement reflects that. It is checked when you register.

You must also:

• have the legal capacity to enter into a contract;
• not have been previously removed from the platform;
• not be legally barred from using a service of this kind, including anyone subject to a relevant court order or on a sex offenders register.

We currently offer the service in the United Kingdom and United States only.

We do not knowingly permit anyone below the age requirement to hold an account, and any account found to belong to a minor is closed immediately and its data deleted. If you believe a minor is using the platform, contact safety@loungeandmingle.com at once.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Tell us promptly at support@loungeandmingle.com if you think someone else has access. Give us accurate information and keep it current. Do not impersonate anyone, create an account for someone else, or hold more than one account without our agreement.

You can see and revoke your active sessions in settings.

4. Membership passes

All prices are in pounds sterling. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Pen Pal and Elite are earned-eligibility tiers: verified Good Deeds qualify you to purchase the corresponding paid membership at the price then shown. Neither membership can be purchased before that eligibility is earned.

Automatic renewal

The Curious and Social are recurring subscriptions. Unless you cancel before the next billing date, Stripe will attempt to charge the payment method on file at the renewal interval shown at checkout and in your account. The renewal price is the price disclosed for that subscription; if we change it, the notice and cancellation rights in Price changes below apply before the new price takes effect. We will provide any renewal notice required by law and may also send a reminder, but a missed reminder does not by itself cancel a renewal.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time from Settings → Subscription or the Stripe billing portal. If those routes are unavailable, contact support@loungeandmingle.com and we will help. A cancellation normally stops the next renewal; it does not end the current paid period, and you keep access until that period ends. Cancellation does not by itself create a refund; the Refund and Cancellation Policy and your statutory rights apply.

Price changes

We may change prices, but we will give you at least 30 days' notice and you can cancel before it takes effect. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Refunds are covered by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, including your 14-day statutory cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

5. Events

Events may be free or ticketed, with prices shown before you book. Capacity-limited events may operate a waitlist — you are not charged while waitlisted, only when a place is confirmed.

Who runs events. Some events are run by us; others are hosted by members or third parties. Where an event is hosted by someone else, they are responsible for running it— the venue, the content, the conduct of the event and its safety arrangements. We provide the platform and handle booking. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of a third-party host, though we will help you resolve problems and will remove hosts who behave badly.

Tickets are not transferable. Tickets are personal to you and cannot be transferred, resold or given away. Entry may require your identity to match the booking.

At in-person events you must also:

• meet the age requirement, and be prepared to show photo ID;
• check in — entry may be refused without a valid booking;
• follow the venue's rules and any dress code set by the host;
• not photograph or record other attendees without their consent.

Alcohol, where served, is under the venue's licence and at their discretion. If you are removed from an event for misconduct, you are not refunded.

Meeting people in person carries risk. We do not conduct criminal record checks on members. Please read our safety guidance, and use your judgement.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize and display your content for the purpose of operating the service— so we can show your profile to other members and carry your messages. Nothing more.

We will not use your photographs in advertising, sell your content, or claim ownership of it. If you delete content the licence ends, subject to the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.

7. Prohibited Activities

• harass, threaten, stalk, bully or intimidate anyone;
• post hateful content, or discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic;
• post sexually explicit material, or any content involving a minor;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your age, identity or relationship status;
• solicit money, promote investments, or run any commercial scheme;
• ask other members for money— this is the most common form of fraud on dating platforms;
• use bots, scrapers or automation, or attempt to circumvent rate limits or bot protection;
• reverse engineer, probe or disrupt the service, or access data you are not entitled to;
• share another member's private information, photographs or messages without their consent;
• use the service for anything unlawful.

8. Moderation and account removal

We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms. Where we can, we will tell you what happened and why, and you may appeal by emailing support@loungeandmingle.com. For serious matters — threats, sexual misconduct, fraud, or anything involving a minor — we may act immediately and without notice, and may report it to the police.

Where automated screening is enabled, photographs are checked before publication. A photo that is not approved remains pending or unavailable to other members. If an automated check rejects your photo, you can ask a person to review it.

Accounts closed for serious misconduct are not refunded, and we keep a minimal record to prevent the person returning. You can delete your account at any time in settings.

9. What we do not promise

We provide a platform for meeting people. We do not promise:

• that you will be matched with anyone, or that anyone will reply;
• any particular number of matches, dates or connections;
• any relationship, outcome or result;
• that other members are who they say they are.

Compatibility scores, match suggestions and personality results are indicative only. They are not professional advice — not medical, not psychological, not relationship counselling.

Genotype and blood group information is provided by members themselves and is not verified by us. It must never be relied on for medical decisions. If genetic compatibility matters to you, please seek proper medical testing and advice.

10. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Except as set out in these Terms, the service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent the law permits.

Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for the conduct of any member, anything that happens at an event hosted by a third party, content posted by members, loss arising from a meeting arranged through the service, or indirect or consequential loss.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. As a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Intellectual property

The Lounge & Mingle name, logo, software, design and content are ours or our licensors'. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

12. Changes and ending this agreement

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice. If you do not accept a change you may close your account before it takes effect, and we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

You may close your account at any time. We may end this agreement on reasonable notice, or immediately for a serious breach.

13. General

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings there, and if you live in the United States nothing here removes a right to bring a claim in your home state where the law gives you one.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues. If we do not enforce a right, we do not lose it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours on a sale of the business, with notice, and never to your disadvantage.
